The Misamis Occidental-based local film festival is currently looking for participants for this year’s film competition. The 2020 Oroquieta Film Festival (OFF) edition will be introducing the 241 Challenge format where all registered participants (or teams) will make a 1-minute short film in 24 hours.
Due to movement restrictions brought by the pandemic, this year’s festival will exclusively go online to prevent all participants from the risk of getting the COVID-19 virus. The competition is open to all aspiring filmmakers around the country.
The deadline for registration is on November 25, 2020, at precisely 12 am. All interested participants are required to pay Php 500 for the registration fee (per team) in order for the festival competition to continue running for the next coming years. Participants can send their payment via Gcash at 09664159720. They will soon be notified via Facebook Messenger for the confirmation of their registration.
All registered teams/participants will receive free festival passes, which will give them access to OFF’s Virtual Filmmaking Workshop and a roster of all OFF 241 Challenge film entries and Guest films.
At 3:00 pm on November 25, all participating teams will have to attend a virtual meeting orientation via Google Meet to discuss the festival’s challenges and themes. At exactly 6:00 pm of the same day, the 241 Challenge competition will officially start and end at 6:00 pm of the next day (November 26).
All the submitted entries are set to be premiered on the Oroquieta Film Festival’s official Facebook page during the festival’s whole duration from November 28 to December 5.
The announcement of winners will happen on December 25, 2020. The winner of the Best Short Film Award will receive a cash prize from the festival committee.
