The world’s leading streaming entertainment service provider Netflix has finally released the first images of the much-awaited anime series Trese.
Based on the popular comic series written by Budjette Tan with artwork by Kajo Baldisimo, Trese tells the story of Alexandra Trese, a cool detective who solves cases that include supernatural beings like aswang, kapre, tikbalang, and maligno.
Netflix first surprised all Filipino fans back in 2018 after announcing that the anime adaptation of the supernatural crime series was chosen as one of the five new series that will be released on the giant streaming service platform.
Jay Oliva, a Filipino-American artist and animation director who worked on some of the highly acclaimed films like Justice League Dark, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Parts, Thor: Ragnarok, and the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy, will serve as the director and executive producer of Trese while the Jakarta and Singapore-based BASE Entertainment will produce and handle the series.
Trese is set to stream on Netflix in 2021.
