The Filipino remake of the 2013 award-winning South Korean film ‘Miracle in Cell No.7’ is slated to stream online on WeTV starting this November 27.
The Asian streaming website and app WeTV have recently announced the MMFF top grosser film’s online release date along with other foreign films and series as part of its 2021 lineup.
Starring Aga Muhlach, Bella Padilla, and Xia Vigor, the box-office hit film follow the story of Yesha and his father, Joselito, an intellectually disabled man who is wrongfully charged with sexual assault, kidnapping, and murder of a little girl, as they struggle to be together inside the prison cell. Years later, Yesha, a now licensed lawyer, will reopen his father’s case to prove his innocence.
The film was directed by Nuel Naval and first debuted on December 25, 2019, as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2019. The film received four nominations, including the Best Picture and Best Actor awards, in the same festival.
