Kaputol (Fragments), a full-length feature film directed by McArthur Alejandre and written by award-winning scriptwriter Ricky Lee, is currently competing at the 4th Innuendo International Film Festival in Milan, Italy.
The film festival has just begun on October 27 and will end on October 30, 2020.

The film follows the story of long-time best friends Robert (Alfred Vargas), an independent actor, and Kiki (Cherie Gil), a director. As they struggle to finish the script left behind by Robert’s son, Conrad (Ronwaldo Martin), who was kidnapped five years ago, the two grapple with their issues in life and reflect on the worlds they are living in–full of injustices and inequality.
With the use of the “movie within the movie” concept, Kaputol tackles some controversial issues, including the topic of desaparecidos or those people who were kidnapped and killed by military and same-sex relationships.
Produced by Alternative Vision Cinema, Inc, Kaputol features Alfred Vargas, Cherie Gil, Angel Aquino, Ronwaldo Martin, Joel Saracho, Soliman Cruz, Upeng Galang Fernandez, Adrienne Vergara, and Elora Espano.
Lav Diaz, an award-winning director known for Genus Pan and the upcoming film Servando Mandamag, and Daniel Uy serve as the cinematographers of the film.
This is the film’s third international film festival. It recently competed last August at the 2020 Asian Film Festival in Rome, Italy, and at the 2020 Bengalore International Film Festival in India last March.
The team behind Kaputol has yet to announce the premiere date of the film in the country.
